Thailand’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has progressed through several important stages, reflecting both political commitment and continued efforts to align with OECD standards.
Following the Cabinet meeting on 19 May 2026, the Government takes its commitment by establishing the National Steering Committee for Supervising Thailand’s OECD Membership Process (TH2OECD). This initiative is intended to accelerate the accession process, with a target membership date of 2028.
The main objective of the TH2OECD Committee is to oversee, manages and expedite Thailand’s Technical Review process under Step 6 of the OECD accession framework, as outlined in the key milestones below.

Author's Notes:
Becoming a member of the OECD would promote greater alignment of Thailand’s tax transparency and transfer pricing frameworks with international standards, thereby helping to narrow the gap between domestic and multinational companies.
Furthermore, the Thai Revenue Department (TRD) would benefit from enhanced and more efficient information exchange mechanisms with other OECD jurisdictions.
In this context, continuous monitoring and regular review of tax and transfer pricing compliance have become increasingly critical for taxpayers.
